Why write?
Why I Write
Someone asked me why I write.
My reply, immediately, was, because that's what I do.
I can't imagine Not Writing.
I have story ideas too numerous to count.
I even have a plan, of sorts. After novels a, b, c, there are d, e, f. Then there will be g, h, i all the way to x, y, z. Then I'll start over like they name hurricanes, alpha, beta ...
Their churning, their demands settled a bit once I gave them each their own folder, their own rough sentence or two plot summary, their own first lines of chapter one. Yet they poke at me ocasionally -- when is my turn?
Quote:
The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct acting from inner necessity. The creative mind plays with the objects it loves.
Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)
